Day 1,Arrival and transfer to Kidepo national park

You will be received by our company representative driver/guide at the Airport. Depending on your arrival time, and transfer to Kidepo National park by flying. Reaching in time for rest, dinner and overnight at Lodge.

Day 2,Community visit (Ik Community.)

Wakeup early morning for breakfast, drive to the Ik tribe, the Ik people are an ethnic group numbering about 10,000 people living in the mountains of northeastern Uganda near the border with Kenya, next to the more populous Karamojong and Turkana peoples. The Ik were displaced from their land to create the Kidepo Valley National Park and consequently suffered extreme famine. Also, their weakness relative to other tribes meant they were regularly raided. The Ik are subsistence farmers who grind their own grain, there are a lot of things to learn and get acquainted with. We shall have lunch and then proceed back to the lodge in time for dinner and over night at Lodge.

Day 3, Game drive and the hot spring visit

After breakfast we shall have a game drive in the park to Kanangorok hot spring. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich. The park harbors a great diversity of animal species than other parks. Of the 80 species of mammals listed in 1971, 28 were not known to occur in any other Ugandan park. Among the Carnivore species unique to Kidepo and only Karamoja region include the bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, cheetah and hunting dog. Kidepo suffered with poachers during the Amin era, and is still recovering from years of poaching that left some game herds depleted. Striped Hyena, Lesser Kudu, Grant’s gazelle and Beisa Oryx have not been seen at all in recent times and are presumed to be locally extinct. Elephant, burchell’s zebra, bush pig, warthog, Rothschild giraffe, cape buffalo, eland, bush buck, bush duskier, defassa water buck, bohor reed buck, Jackson’s hartebeest and oribi are some of the other large game herds as well as; lion, zebra, leopard, Buffalo, several small cats, Kangoni, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal and side-striped jackal-commonly seen. Five species of primate are found in the park- the Kavirondo bush baby being endemic.

Day 4,Cultural village visit and nature walk.

After breakfast, we shall have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. Get exposed to the village dances and songs. We shall have our lunch in the cultural village to have a test of the local food and we continue with the visit. In the evening we shall transfer back to the accommodation in time for dinner and rest as above.

Day 5, Transfer to Murchison falls National Park.

We shall transfer to Murchison falls as we drive through lira where we shall have lunch and continue to the park reaching in time for dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 6,Game Drive in Murchison Falls and boat cruise

An early cup of tea/coffee before going for a Game drive where you will spot, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76 we continue browsing the Drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of Birds and mammals . If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them. Afternoon: Boat ride to the bottom of Falls where you get to see Hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the falls and Elephants quenching their thirst for the afternoon sun. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 7,Transfer from Murchison Falls-Kibale National Park

Morning breakfast, check out of the park and drive along lake Albert to the escarpment area for a great view of the great rift valley, continue to Hoima town for lunch at the Hotel, continue through Mabale, kagadi towns with great views the local community, thatched houses, school kids and finally to Kyenjojo town. Remember it is a dirt road from Murchison falls to Kyenjonjo town. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 8,Chimp trekking in Kibale forest national park

Early morning breakfast, continue to Kibale park headquarters for a morning briefing and start the chimpanzee trekking experience. In the afternoon head for a swamp walk in Bigodi, Expect loads of monkeys, birds i.e.; the famous Shoe bill and other tree species. Dinner and overnight at lodge as above.

Day 9, Kibale- Queen Elizabeth National park

Depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass through the crater Valley with beautiful lakes and rich grasslands which are set deep. This is truly the most magnificent scenery in the park. Queen Elizabeth hosts a large variety and volume of wildlife. It boasts one of the highest bio diversity ranging from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. After checking in and having lunch, you will head for a drive where you will spot Elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos and others. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 10,Queen Elizabeth National Park

Game drive and Launch cruise along the Kazinga channel, Take a cup of coffee and go for an early morning game drive in this park, provide excellent opportunities to see Lions, Cape Buffaloes, Giant Forest Hogs, Leopards, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more. After lunch, enjoy the unique launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing, ideal for the Uganda safari .The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Dinner and overnight

Day 11,Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable Park

Early breakfast, Check out and continue to Bwindi through the Ishasha plains with chances of seeing the tree climbing lions on the way. Lunch at Hotel, continue to Bwindi and check into lodge.

Day 12,Gorilla Tracking Experience in Bwindi national park.

Wakeup early morning for breakfast and report to the ranger station for briefing about the gorilla tracking experience and thereafter embark on the gorilla tracking adventure. You will spend time with the gorillas as you listen, and watch them. If you have the afternoon free, we could walk to the water fall nearby or you can take a guided village walk amongst the locals. Return at your lodge for an overnight and dinner as above.

Day 13, Batwa trail (Pygmies)

After breakfast, we shall transfer to the Batwa community. Batwa Trail is a community based tour which starts at the base of Mt Muhavura. You'll need walking shoes, a hat, raingear, and packed lunch with sufficient drinks. The Batwa Trail runs across the lower slopes of the Muhavura and Gahinga volcanoes in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The forest is home to a variety of wildlife but the Batwa Trail is far from being a conventional nature walk. With the help of Batwa guides, we shall see the forest as a home. Along the trail, we shall fire a bow and arrow, check hives for wild honey, help repair a Batwa shelter, harvest plants for medicine and food, light a fire without matches, listen to legends and learn about Batwa traditions. And in the evening we shall return to our accommodation for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 14,Transfer to Kampala

Early breakfast before embarking on our return to Kampala, driving down the grassed and terraced escarpments of southwestern Uganda while taking in the breathtaking sights of the hills of the region dubbed ‘the little Switzerland of Africa’. This area is a highly fertile, mountainous region with steep sided hills covered from top to bottom in neatly terraced cultivated rows. A remarkable highlight of this journey is the Equator line and surely you will cross it as we have a brief stop here. We will be in Kampala in the evening at our accommodation Ndere cultural center for dinner and overnight plus the entertainment from Ndere cultural group.

Day 15,Reserved for Departure

Depending on the time of the flight we shall transfer to Entebbe for our flight back home carrying memories of Uganda with us.
